Seven Kings Muslim Educational Trust

An Introduction About the Madrasah from the Headteacher

Can those who know and those who do not know become equal? It is only the people of understanding who are receptive of the advice.
[al-Quran, 39:9]

And Allah will raise those, in ranks, who have believed and are given knowledge.
[al-Quran 58:11]

And say: ‘My Lord! Increase me in knowledge’
[al-Quran, 20:114]

The Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said:

To seek knowledge is compulsory on every Muslim.

In the name of Allah, Rabbul ‘Aalamin. May peace and blessings descend upon Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wasallam, his family members his companions and upon all of those who follow in their footsteps.

Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

The learning of basic Islamic knowledge is compulsory on every Muslim. To provide and facilitate for the fulfilment of this compulsion is a duty of all Muslim parents, local Muslim communities, Islamic centres and Masajid of the UK. In the modern materialistic, hedonistic world the Muslim Ummah faces fresh and new challenges in passing on the Eman, yaqin (Faith and conviction), Ilm, skills and insights needed by the new generation to strengthen and maintain their Muslim faith and identity and to give them sound Islamic understanding.

This would help them in striving to be pious, well mannered, knowledgeable, healthy, creative, active and thinking Muslim individuals who not only love Allah, Nabi Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and Islam by word but act on the dictates of this love by practicing the commands of Allah in the way shown to us by Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wasallam, passed onto us by the noble Sahabah Radiyallahu Anhum, pious predecessors and Aimmah al Mujtahidin.

I truly believe we, the Madrasah staff, parents and guardians all have a great responsibilty. If we get the Deeni education and tarbiyah of our young generation right, we can help turn their Ilm (knowledge) and Fahm (understanding) into reality. Learning the obligatory knowledge of Islam will enable one to know Allah and His Rasul, to discriminate between what is lawful (halal) and what is unlawful (haram), what is valid and what is invalid, what is acceptable and what is rejected, what is sound Islam and what is not.

Based on the aforementioned, at SKMET we aim to provide an Islamic, caring, learning environment. To inculcate in each child the love of Allah, his Messenger and Islam. To provide an Islamic environment through which every child develops into a practising Muslim, leading them to success in this world and the hereafter.

Eman, Adab and self belief will underpin their Madrasah experience. We are all part of an Ummah. We appreciate and support each other irrespective of our different backgrounds and cultures. Our duaa is for all our students to develop into faith intelligent, faith assured global citizens who are confident of who they are, where they are from, what they want to achieve, where they want to go and how they want to contribute to the betterment of their Akhirah and the Ummah.

I make dua to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala that He accept our effort to fulfill such a great responsibility and that He bless it with sincerity. The ultimate reward is with Him alone.
